paths – flagstone, pavers, bricks

I’d be hard-pressed to choose which part of landscaping I love more — planting CA native gardens OR designing pathways. They both require one to balance command of the materials with letting the organic forms shine.

Pathways…

  • show people how to move in the space
  • are a great way to traverse a yard, particularly when applying pebble or mulch
  • lead the eye to focal points
  • organize transitions between terrain and surface materials

We primarily work in 3 materials: pavers, flagstone, and brick. Sometimes… the design calls for prefab stepping stones or poured concrete.
