cover the ground

When the lawn is gone, you have a few options: mulch, pebbles (aka “decorative rock”) and living ground cover (aka “native plants.”)

No matter which of these you select, we always recommend including boulders in your landscaping.

Why do we love boulders?

  • boulders give dimension to your space, adding heft and height.
  • boulders are beautiful — they create a sense of place and connection to your surroundings. the more you see and touch them, the more you will love them.
  • boulders protect your plants. They give shelter to roots, providing temperature stability and moisture collection. If you want to see this “in the wild,” just notice how often weeds or volunteer plants pop up at the edge of rocks, sidewalks, and hardscape!
