maintenance

Before we begin the design, it’s important to think about maintenance!

For instance, which maintenance will you do yourself and what will you hire for?

Can you commit to spending 4-6 hours per month in your yard doing light maintenance?

If not, what amount of time is best for you?

Which pieces of a landscape drive maintenance?

  • Leaves from your trees or neighbors’ trees
  • Healthy growth of large trees, patio trees, and shrubs
  • Deadheading and light pruning of perennials
  • Harvesting fruits and vegetables
  • Annual plantings – flowers and vegetables
  • Maintenance on building/walls/exteriors
  • Maintenance on patios and walkways
  • Maintenance on pergolas and shade structures
  • Lawn / grasses
  • Regular checks on irrigation systems
  • Mulch – replace, spread

There will always be something you can do in your landscape to make it tidy, fresh, safe, and fun to be in. Our goal is to keep those tasks to just a few light hours per week, while still providing beautiful spaces you enjoy living in.

Also, consider the value of leaves for our pollinators, which desperately need our attention and protection.
