trellis and espalier gardens

Trellises are fantastic for gardening. They provide support for plants that will provide dense privacy, as is the case with vines. Trellises are also great when we want to create architectural lines or height in a narrow or bland space — often that 12- or 18-inch band next to the front walkway. And for the very bold, trellises are for espaliering plants, from fruit trees to citrus to some of the more flexible natives.

We think this is a lot of fun to implement, so tell us if you want to bring trellises into your space.
